I'm amazed that you can get almost everything here, as long as you pay the price. Swiss yogurt, - chocolate, - cookies, Danish butter, cheese, cookies, Italian pasta, - cheese, French cheese and all sorts of American and Japanese food.
The Ramadan started on Monday, and as we live just across from the Arab part of town. We did wonder what some baldachins were doing in one of the streets. We went there yesterday evening even though it had started to rain a bit. We decided that it was only a shower. Approx 10 meters from the entrance of the hotel is a pedestrian bridge crossing Beach Road. Before we got on top of the bridge it was raining seriously. It will soon stop as always we thought, so we continued. Hm..Boys were we wrong!
The curbs in this town are pretty high; it didn't feel like that suddenly. We were soaked to the skin. Maybe when the rainy season comes we will have to buy a boat to survive. My sandals are not dry yet (after more than 20 hours). One good thing though, the rain has cooled the outside temperature down, but on the other hand the humidity has got worse. You can't win apparently.
