Fort Canning Park
We went to Fort Canning Park, to see the old fort, and the bunker which the British troops held till the capitulation to the Japanese army 15th February 1942. It was a hot day. Willy went on a tour inside the bunker. Inside they have set up a couple of tableaus with wax figures, so that you can really get a feeling for what it looked like. But there wasn't much left of the old fort.
Also on that day there was a Herritage festival, with various ethnic group presenting their local food. We didn't have any, though it looked alright.
Also here there were some lion dancers, they must all over town this weekend.
On our way back to the apartment we made a pit stop in Raffles Hotel courtyard (a very nice waterhole). As we sat there under the parasol with a beer, listening to jazz music played softly in the background, we thought of you all. It would have been sooo nice if you had popped in and joined us in that peaceful place away from all the traffic noise.
