2/1

29/12
Our last tour in Exmouth. We did a 4-wheel drive into the outback up a canyon, followed by snorkeling at a small
reef. The snorkeling was very good, Willy saw a lot of fish, a green turtle and a small shark.

30/12
Transit to Perth. The hotel - Rydgen - is a BIG improvement over the previous. The city centre is still dead after
18.00, but the area is more lively with a couple of bars etc. We had a very good dinner at an Irish pub close to the
hotel.

31/12
Did not do much, just walked around a bit.
We had dinner at the hotel, and shared a botle of good red, before going down to the river to enjoy the fireworks. Or
rather that was the plan - it turned out that there was no fireworks where we were. There was a lot of locals, so we
weren't the only ones expecting something. We could see some fireworks in the distance, it started a quarter to 12 and
ended 10 minutes later, and that was it.

1/1
Willy went for a walk in Kings Park, which has a lot of war memorials and a lot of plants. Quite nice and very big.
And very hot. Very light, approaching non-existing, traffic.

2/1
Two tours: 1) Perth and Fremantle 2) Swan Valley. To be honest mostly a waste of time. The tours were ok, but we had
seen most of it already. The Swan Valley tour did include a wild-life park. We could hand-feed Kangaroos, except that
they were asleep in the heat and weren't hungry. But we saw Koalas close up.
