7/1 - heading back home

3/1
We went on (yet another) tour, this time to see the 'Wave Rock'. It was a long drive, but worth it. The rock is quite amazing, both in form and colour. It was hot, but not as bad as we had anticipated.

4/1
Our last full day in Perth. We went to the Rottnest (Rats nest) Island. It is a goverment owned area, and they keep the number of accomodations down, to protect the wildlife, and the price of accomodations down, to keep it within reach of families. As one guide expressed it: it is the peoples island. Some appartments have 7 year waiting list. Or rather, they have a ballot system, but the average wait is 7 years. And it is a very nice place for families. There are some unique animals and fauna on the island.
We did a 'underwater reef tour', which was just a glass-sided boat. The water was unclear, so we did not see much. Then we had a small guided tour, where we got a lot of history. Lastly we did a bus tour around the island, where we got a lot more information, and saw local wildlife, incl a small snake. Small, but still deadly.

So that was the end of Perth. They have some nice surroundings, but the city itself is booooring. Nothing happens after 6pm. An even the construction sites were still, this would never happen in S'pore. We threw some coins to a fiddler standing in the street - he wasn't very good but at least he was alive.

Back in S'pore. Still nice and warm here.

6/1
Jane had lunch with her quilt-buddies, Willy with his colleagues. Had one last dip in the swimmingpool, one last clubsandwich at the pool bar, and a couple of last beers and smoothies too.

7/1
THIS IS IT...... We are now sitting in the airport waiting for our flight back to the cold Switzerland BRRRRR!.
